Welcome to Element Kids!  The following policies & procedures are designed to ensure a safe and happy visit for your children. 

Thank you for your cooperation!

  1. Reservations should be made for your child prior to your visit.  The purpose for reservations is to ensure that proper staffing in the element kids is maintained for your child’s safety.  If your reservation is not needed for any reason, please call to let us know that your child will no be coming in.
  2. A child care ticket must be obtained from the front deskKids Playing in order for your children to be admitted into element kids.  Children must be signed in and signed out by the parent.
  3. Payment is requested when the parent checks in at the front desk.  The charge is $3.00 per visit.  Children may visit element kids for a maximum of two hours per day.
  4. Label diaper bags and bottles clearly with the child’s first and last name to help the staff remember which bag belongs to which child.
  5. Be sure to check your child’s diaper before leaving him/her in element kids as staff can not change the diaper per the Kansas Health Department.  If a child needs to be changed due to a dirty diaper during his/her visit, the parent will be called to element kids.
  6. Children are discouraged from bringing toys from home.  element kids is not responsible for lost or broken items.
  7. If your child has any of the following symptoms, please do not leave her in the element kids: a. runny nose (green or yellow discharge), b. fever, c. vomiting, d. diarrhea, e. eye discharge, f. any illness which may be contagious.  A child displaying these symptoms in element kids will be returned to the care of the parent.
  8. If your child is unruly and disruptive, a warning will be issued the first time; a five minute time-out will be enforced the second time; and the child will be asked to leave the third time and refrain from coming back for 14 days.

GUIDELINES FOR CONDUCT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12

  1. Child has full access to the youth activity room and element kids during supervised hours.  Reservations are required.
  2. Child must be accompanied by an adult in locker rooms.
  3. Child is NOT allowed on the main floor unless in special supervised program.
  4. Children may use the pool during open swim time only with parental supervision.  Diapers are not allowed in the pool.  A swim diaper must be used.  For your child’s safety and protection, flotation devices (i.e. floaties and/or life jackets) must be worn. These devices are NOT provided by element kids.

GUIDELINES FOR CHILDREN AGES 12-16

  1. Child has full access to youth fitness and T.V. rooms during supervised hours and can participate in special programs.  Reservations are required.
  2. Child can do aerobic classes.  Child can participate in aquatic classes with parental supervision and instructor consent.
  3. Child must be accompanied by an adult in locker rooms.
  4. Child can use equipment with parental supervision.  THEY MAY NOT USE THE TREADMILLS, GAUNTLETS, AND CROSSROBIC TRAINER AT ANY TIME. Child may not use equipment during prime hours of Mon-Fri 5:00-7:00pm and Sat 7:45-1:00pm.  A child must be 15 years of age or older to use the club without parental supervision.

GUIDELINES FOR CHILDREN 16 AND OVER

  1. Full access to club: all equipment and pool, locker rooms, sauna, whirlpool, and aerobics.

ALL POLICIES ARE DESIGNED WITH THE MEMBERS’ SAFETY AND COMFORT IN MIND.  IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT CHILDREN ARE TRAINED PROPERLY ON WEIGHT TRAINING AND CARDIOVASCULAR EQUIPMENT TO AVOID INJURY!!

ELEMENT FITNESS FOLLOWS THE GUIDELINES RECOMMENDED BY THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SPORTS MEDICINE AND OUR PEDIATRIC PHYSICIAN ADVISORY BOARD.  PLEASE SEE THE STAFF TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR INSTRUCTION FOR YOUR CHILDREN ON THE EQUIPMENT.
